Pre-Chapter Assembly in Zambia: a deep experience of communion
From 10th to 13th April 2010 the Comboni Missionary Sisters in Zambia gathered in the Provincial House, in Lusaka, for the annual Provincial Assembly which, this year, was characterized by being the “Pre-Chapter” Provincial Assembly. It was facilitated by Sr. Guadalupe Mancilla and Sr. Enza Carini and attended by all the Sisters of the Province. The aim of the Assembly was to reach a consensus on the points from the Lineamenta to be sent to the Chapter.
The Assembly was a deep experience of dialogue, respect and communion among all the participants and with the entire Congregation, too. Everybody participated with a sense of responsibility and involvement. The work at the Assembly was demanding and challenging, sometimes even heavy, but everybody was very much committed, involved, owning the awareness that the Chapter had already started through the Assemblies and the previous work of reflection, and that every contribution was important for the journey of the Congregation. Every Sister’s participation made the Provincial Assembly a very important moment for the life of the Province!
Everybody felt very grateful to the Lord for the desire He put in everybody’s heart to work together, to be opened to each other, to grow towards a common vision, deepening our sense of belonging.
Now, everybody is back to the mission holding in the heart the awareness that the Lord is with us. To Him we have entrusted what comes next, the preparation of the Instrumentum Laboris in June and the XIX General Chapter, in September. All of us will be there through our contribution and our prayer, united in the same passion for God, the mission and humanity.
