Ginette and Peter Cobbold, members of the Cenacle of Missionary Prayer and UK Comboni Centre Committed lay Community, organized a four-day retreat in Barcelona Spirituality Centre. The retreat was attended by twenty-four lay people from the UK and Spain, and it focused on Saint Daniel Comboni and Saint Ignatius of Loyola Spirituality.
The retreat included a visit to Manresa and other significant places in the life journey of Saint Ignatius, making the experience more real and challenging. The serene location, surrounded by green hills, blue sky, and silence, helped the participants to delve more deeply into the good wine of the two saints’ spirituality.
The Lay Comboni Community tirelessly supports the Comboni Sisters’ Mission in the UK and many other parts of the world. The participants expressed deep gratitude for this opportunity. Additionally, they celebrated the 10th anniversary of the first lay Cenacle Missionary Prayer, started by Sr Natalia in Chiswick, which is now the Comboni Centre, on 31 January 2013. It was a joyful occasion, and everyone had many reasons to say “Thank you”.
